Is hockey hard? I don’t know, you tell me. We need to have the strength and power of a football player, the stamina of a marathon runner, and the concentration of a brain surgeon. But we need to put all this together while moving at high speeds on a cold and slippery surface while 5 other guys use clubs to try and kill us. Oh yeah, did I mention that this whole time we’re standing on blades 1/8 of an inch thick? Is ice hockey hard? I don’t know, you tell me. Next question.

Hockey Positions

These are the five positions you need to know: 
1. Goalie: The hardest position to play

2. Center: Plays forward in the middle of the ice

3. Winger: Plays forward along the sides

4. Defensemen: Two defensemen responsible for protecting the net and moving the puck to the forwards

 

 

Hockey Stats

    • Goals – The player who puts the puck into the net
    • Assists – The player who passes the puck to the one who scores
    • Points – Goals + Assists = Points

Special Teams

When a penalty happens your team is either on the: 
1. Power Play: Team has more players on the ice creating an offensive advantage 

2. Penalty Kill: Team loses a player for the penalty and is at a disadvantage
